Hockey Agents/Advisors Vs Wolfe Consulting
A sports agent is a legal representative (hence agent ) for professional sports figures such as
athletes and coaches. They procure and negotiate employment and endorsement contracts for the
athlete or coach whom they represent. Sports agents are responsible for communications with team owners, managers, and other individuals. Due to the length and complexity of contracts, many sports agents are lawyers or have a background in contract law. Sports agents generally receive between 4 and 10% of the athlete’s playing contract, and 10 to 20% of the athlete’s endorsement contract, although these figures vary.
Family Advisor is another term used for agents before an athlete turns professional. Having a sports agent as an amateur athlete is an NCAA violation. These advisors take on the role of agents to Student Athletes with the understanding that once the athlete turns professional he or she will sign a contract with that agent.
Why Wolfe Hockey is Different
Jason will sit down with the entire family to discuss goal setting and how to get there. He will help you create a plan and set realistic goals. He will discuss what it takes to become that top level athlete and walk you through all the different stages of youth hockey and which path is best for your player and family. Your first session will be one (1) hour long. It includes face to face time with Jason and a workbook that will help you set goals, understand the different levels of youth hockey, and the different paths a player can take to get to the next level.
